Since 1950, Easter Seals Nevada has been advocating for, and working with, infants, children, youth and adults who have disabilities and other challenges.  Easter Seals Nevada works to address the community's social service gaps and to leverage partnerships and other strategic opportunities to increase participation in economic and civic life for all people. The organization is one of Nevada's largest community disability agencies serving 8,500 people with disabilities and their families each year. 

Summary of Position:
The Rehabilitation Technologies is a full-time, exempt salaried position responsible for providing training, consulting and evaluation services related to assistive technology. This position is responsible for providing both direct services to consumers and indirect community outreach and public awareness services.

• Assess consumer computer access needs and overall computer needs in the AT Department
• Provide specific equipment and training recommendations regarding consumers referred to the assistive technology center via written and verbal reports
• Provide training to consumers on how to access and use hardware, software, peripheral devices and other assistive technology
• Perform maintenance and repair on previously used equipment and evaluate individuals to match with appropriate technology.
• Customize and troubleshoot hardware and software in all technology-related services, when appropriate. Maintain equipment in the AT lab by performing such tasks as installing software, configuring PC's and troubleshooting, repairing hardware and software. Coordinate support assistance form It as needed
• Deliver, set up, test and install computer equipment to employment and training sites, as needed.
• Assist in the overall marketing of ESN and Assistive Technology services by providing community seminars, information and referral, and other marketing related to AT provision
• Work in conjunction with staff from other ESN services to develop assistive technology plans for consumers in other departments
• Attend staffing and meetings regarding consumers receiving services. At the request of other departments, participate in staffing and meetings as appropriate.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate, timely documentation as per program standards utilizing Penelope Case Management software and other supporting tools such as email and the NateProject.com website.
• Accurately complete documentation for services and information required for program reporting in accordance with service expectations and reporting timeliness.
• This position is required to engage in extensive self-directed learning to keep pace with changing technology. Meeting core skill levels and certification in technology is also required. Certifications are determined by Easter Seals based on program needs.
• As part of ESN Assistive Technology team, this employee may also be asked to assist with other projects including, but not limited to program support through administrative, strategic planning, purchasing, acquisition and record keeping tasks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge and understanding of technology including Windows, MS Applications and Apple.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of assistive technology services, equipment and best practices
• Ability to handle pressure in a positive manner
• Ability to promote the professional image of the company
• Ability to communicate and maintain good relationships and interactions with consumers, staff, other agency personnel and other persons in the community.
• Ability to prioritize and provide self-direction
• Ability to provide accurate case documentation
• This position will require extensive travel in Southern Nevada inclusive of Metropolitan Las Vegas and surrounding communities including but not limited to Boulder City, Pahrump, Mesquite, etc. Some travel may be required within Northern Nevada inclusive of Reno, Carson City, Sparks and surrounding areas as well as rural and frontier Nevada and parts of California, Oregon and Utah. Overnight travel may be required occasionally.
• Ability and desire to learn new systems and implement technology solutions
• Ability to take initiative in completing tasks and/or projects.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
• Minimum of an Associate's degree in rehabilitation technology or related field. Completion of related certification program(s) and/or prior experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Has dependable transportation with access to Provide a valid driver's license and provides vehicle insurance documentation, if appropriate

Preferred Education and Experience
• Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Technology
