ABOUT EASTERSEALS NEVADA

Since 1950, Easterseals Nevada has been advocating for, and working with, infants, children, youth and adults who have disabilities and other challenges.  Easter Seals Nevada works to address the community's social service gaps and to leverage partnerships and other strategic opportunities to increase participation in economic and civic life for all people. The organization is one of Nevada's largest community disability agencies serving 8,500 people with disabilities and their families each year.

Responsibilities:
• Under supervision of the BCBA, implements in-home/community-based intervention for children diagnosed on the autism spectrum.
• Complete 40 hours of training as provided by Easter Seals.
• Travels to home and other community settings, as required, to deliver services.
• Completes assessment and written reports based on assessment in collaboration with supervisor.
• Provide and model appropriate behavioral strategies for the child and family and conduct regular parent training.
• Completes necessary documentation within required timeframe, including behavioral data collection, treatment notes, and other company-related documents and current ABA treatment plan for each child. Provides child-related communication to care givers and the program team as appropriate.
• Attends staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings as requested.
• Responsible to complete additional job duties as assigned by Supervisors/Management.

Knowledge, Ability and Skills:
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing;
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion pertaining to the work environment.
• Ability to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations of ATAP (Autism Treatment Assistance Program).
• Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Knowledgeable and skilled in computer/word processing software, including Excel.
• Ability to travel to multiple work sites; must have reliable transportation
• Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice and Nevada Department of Public Safety

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; will consider high school diploma along with relevant experience.
  • Working towards a degree in Child Development, Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Pediatric Therapy, Social Work or related field.
  • Sensitivity to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
  • Must have and maintain valid, current Nevada driver's license, auto insurance and registration
  • Must have and maintain an excellent driving record;
  • Must have and maintain current CPR and First Aid certification (for Adults and Children).

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Pediatric Therapy, Social Work or related field is preferred.
  • Recent experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders and/or related developmental disabilities in a direct care capacity.
