ABOUT EASTERSEALS NEVADA

Since 1950, Easterseals Nevada has been advocating for, and working with, infants, children, youth and adults who have disabilities and other challenges.  Easter Seals Nevada works to address the community's social service gaps and to leverage partnerships and other strategic opportunities to increase participation in economic and civic life for all people. The organization is one of Nevada's largest community disability agencies serving 8,500 people with disabilities and their families each year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop ideas, plans and procedures for initiation, expansion, improvement, and evaluation of Autism services for the benefit of children and families with special needs;
  • Directly hires and supervises all staff and contractors of the programs, providing guidance, evaluations and disciplinary action as needed;
  • Assist Director in developing annual budget in coordination with Senior Vice President of Programs and leads program services to meet budgetary and fiscal goals;
  • Assures program compliance with all regulations for Autism services and is responsible for correcting any discrepancies in these areas when reviewed;
  • Assures data management and accuracy of records and compiles information as needed;
  • Assures client satisfaction by distributing client satisfaction surveys, monitoring home visits and receiving feedback from families;
  • Represents Autism programs in the community to other providers, professional groups and State and Federal agencies;
  • Develops annual goals for the programs that are reviewed throughout the year and changed as needed to ensure the goals are met and are still in line with program and agency philosophy;
  • Responsible for supervision in ATAP program including: program development, ongoing assessment and treatment oversight; report writing and training and education across all interventionists;
  • Provide intensive behavioral services according to the IFSP
  • Complete behavioral assessments and complete written reports based on assessment;
  • Provide and model appropriate behavioral strategies for the child and family;
  • Keep behavior data and modify strategies as needed based on data;
  • Consistently enter data into the TRAC system;
  • Assist in all other duties as assigned by the Director of EIP.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

  • Ability to work on a daily basis with people that may have severe, profound and/or multiple disabilities;
  • Ability to handle pressure in a positive manner;
  • Willingness to participate in and actively increase knowledge in progressive services to people with disabilities;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write and provide (including, but not limited to): accurate client information; incident reports, case notes and documentation, etc.                
  • Ability to read and understand client information, instructions, case notes, incident reports, manuals, etc.
  • Ability to perform physical and verbal intervention of clients, including, but not limited to: blocking or moving away from physical behaviors by clients; directing or redirecting clients when behaviors warrant physical and/or verbal intervention, etc.
  • Ability to visually observe and hear clients.
  • Ability to read and understand client information, instructions, case notes, incident reports, manuals, etc.
  • Ability to write and provide (including, but not limited to): accurate client information; incident reports, case notes and documentation, etc.                
  • Willingness to participate in and actively increase knowledge in progressive services to people with disabilities;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree required
  • Requires an active license as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in the state of Nevada.
  • Must have reliable transportation;
  • Must have and maintain current automobile insurance and registration;
  • Must have and maintain current driver license; must have and maintain good driving record;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write and provide (including, but not limited to): accurate client information; incident reports, case notes and documentation, etc.                
  • Have and maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.
